David McLaughlin is a principal and partner of Dodds & Eder since 1984. He has developed a dedicated team of landscape design and installation professionals whose primary focus is on delivering quality service and outstanding customer satisfaction. David's education and extensive experience in the horticultural field, plus his deep community roots, has helped to establish Dodds & Eder as a customer-centered and award-winnng landscape firm.
David holds a Masters in Business Administration from Long Island University, and a Bachelor of Science in Resource Development from the University of Rhode Island. His earlier positions include: Senior Horticulturist at the Planting Fields Arboretum, Supervisor of Floriculture for the City of Kansas City, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Horticulture for the State of New York College at Farmingdale. His professional memberships include the following: Long Island Landscape and Nursery Association, New York State Turfgrass Association, Nassau Suffolk Landscape Gardeners Association, and the International Plant Propagators Society.
David believes deeply in community; his involvement has included membership and service in the following organizations: President of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Boys and Girls Club, President of the Oyster Bay Lions Club, President of the North Shore Horticultural Society, and Vice-President of The Waterfront Center.
As the senior designer at Dodds and Eder, Tim Barry is the driving creative force behind every project. A practicing landscape designer since 1984, Tim joined forces with Dodds and Eder in 2004, bringing his unique customer-intimate model of design and site management to the firm. He firmly believes outstanding design must be integrated with disciplined "best practice" business principles. Tim has carved out a distinct niche in the industry for his highly-detailed, concept-driven designs that have become the hallmark of Dodds and Eder. A true collaborator and visionary, Tim has earned the high esteem of his clients while winning many local and regional awards for his designs.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science of Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University. He is actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, and is currently Committee Chairperson for Troop 130 in Blue Point, New York.
John Giannotti has been in the landscape industry since 1988. As Production Manager, he is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of our landscape installation and estate maintenance divisions, and has proven to be an invaluable resource. John's unique perspective regarding thoughtful and efficient execution of a design project comes from more than 15 years spent working at some of the most prestigious landscape firms on Long Island, as well as ownership of his own business. Over the past nine years, he has helped to refine and streamline the selection of the best plant materials available for our projects. His experience in procurement is second to none as all plants and landscape materials are hand-selected with a discerning eye for quality. John aims to meet and, in most cases exceed, our clients' expectations. John has also been the key to the development of our warrantee, customer service, and pruning programs.
John holds an Associate Degree in Ornamental Horticulture/Landscape Design from SUNY Farmingdale. He continues to further his education with specialized courses in order to remain on the cutting edge, learning about developments in woody plant diagnostics, arboriculture, and entomology.
John enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and cooking.
As the Office Coordinator, Stacy is usually the first face or voice you will encounter when you inquire about our services. Stacy's background in customer service, including her ability to wear many "different hats," enables her to give that extra measure of support to our clients. Communication and information sharing, office management, graphic design, and marketing are just a sampling of the responsibilities that she handles seamlessly, allowing us to help serve client needs efficiently and effectively.
Stacy holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Castleton State College, Vermont, and an Associate Degree in Art and Graphic Design from Gibbs College, Melville, NY.
In her down time Stacy has her hand in interior design projects, culinary arts, and child-rearing. She loves spending time with her family on Fire Island whenever possible.
