Meet The Dodds & Eder Team
Building customer relationships is of paramount importance to Curtis Darbee, who, alongside John Giannotti, runs the daily operations of our firm. With a particular focus on maintenance, Curt spends a great deal of time on project sites, helping oversee the crews and providing quality control. He is also a licensed New York State pesticide applicator.
Curt holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in photography from LIU Post, a skill he uses to document some of the stunning landscape and design work created by our award-winning team.
In his free time, he enjoys working in his own yard, running, and spending time with his wife and three children.
John Giannotti oversees daily operations in our landscape installation and estate maintenance divisions, and has proven to be an invaluable resource. As general manager, John parlays his 30 years of experience within the landscape industry into the thoughtful and efficient execution of design projects.
With a discerning eye for quality, he has refined and streamlined procurement of the best plant materials throughout the past 14 years—exceeding clients’ expectations, every time. John has also been an integral component in the development of our warrantee, customer service, and pruning programs.
John holds an associate degree in Ornamental Horticulture/Landscape Design from SUNY Farmingdale, and continues to further his education with specialized courses focusing on everything from arboriculture to entomology. In his free time, John enjoys fishing, cooking, and quality time with family.

With more than 30 years of experience as a practicing landscape designer, Tim has carved out a distinctive niche in the industry, and his detailed, concept-driven installations have become the hallmark of Dodds & Eder.
Tim is an avid proponent of the principle that outstanding design must be integrated with a disciplined business model to achieve success. A true collaborator and visionary, he has earned the accolades of his clients, and been honored with numerous local and regional awards for his designs.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from West Virginia University. He is actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, and serves as a committee member and past committee chairperson for Troop 130 in Blue Point, NY.
Dodds & Eder began its journey over a century ago, when Mollineaux Feed & Supply Company was established in 1897, serving as a distributor of hay, grain, feed, poultry supplies, tools, and fertilizers to the sprawling Gold Coast estates of Long Island’s North Shore.
Following the sale of the business to Fred Leuenberger during the heralded Roaring Twenties, his nephew, John Dodds, came on board in 1930. Two decades later, Dodds had taken over ownership of the company, and enlisted childhood friend, Al Eder, as his partner.
Thus, Dodds & Eder was born.
